The Gil Read Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce our first sponsorship.
In 2009/2010, the Foundation discretely put a 12 year old child on the ice for the first time in his life. The child, who has a parent dealing with some medical issues, wished to play hockey with his friends, but the family was not fiscally in a position to purchase equipment and pay for registration.
The Gil Read Memorial Foundation stepped in and purchased his equipment, skates and paid for registration to the minor hockey association for the child to experience organized sport for the first time.
The family was extremely grateful for the experience and has extended their thanks to everyone involved in allowing their child to play hockey and experience some fun and laughter during their difficult ordeal.
We look forward to helping kids experience the same for many years to come.
