The Gil Read Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce the return of the fourth annual Gil Read Memorial Fastpitch Tournament to be held at the Carp Fairgrounds in Carp, Ontario the weekend of July 22nd, 23rd and 24th 2011.
This year the tournament will be held in the village of Carp, Ontario, home of the Carp I4C Victory Fast Ball Club. Carp, located approximately 20 minutes west of Ottawa, has been a fast pitch community for many years. In the early 1990’s, The Carp Valley Pride made their home at the Carp Fairgrounds and boasted one of the top lineups in all of Canada. It has been quite a few years since this village of Carp has seen the game played at its best, and we are pleased to announce its return.
The tournament will host the top fastpitch players in Eastern Ontario and Quebec and will run Friday night through to Sunday afternoon. There will be a large beer tent on site with hamburgers and hot dogs and lost of prizes to be won.
A day pass is $5 and a weekend pass is $10 with kids under 12 free. All proceeds of the tournament will go to the Gil Read Memorial Foundation, helping kids less fortunate compete in sport across the City of Ottawa.
- 1st Place $1800.00
- 2nd Place $700.00
Tournament is open to all players with pitchers required to be of ISC II caliber.
